نسرين في هذه الرواية أنجزت جميع وعودها بتقديمها نصاً روائياً ناضجاً، ومع أنه عن الحرب، والحرب الأهلية تحديداً، إلا أنه لم يتورط بمزاجاتها. نسرين ذهبت إلى المستقبل مباشرة وجلبته ورمته في وجوهنا. فأحداث الرواية تقع في عام 2029، حيث تعود «ثريّا لوكاس» إلى سورية بحثًا عن ذكرياتها الّتي غرقت مع مركب رماها على شاطئ لارنكا القبرصي، حين كانت في الخامسة من عمرها (عام 2014). تبدأ رحلتها من منطقة بحرية نائية اسمها «وادي قنديل». هناك تقع على مذكرات لكاتبة اسمها «غَيم حدّاد» تسرد فيها غَيم فصولاً من حياتها وحياة بعض الأصدقاء والمدن قبل وخلال الحرب. وعبر هذه المذكرات ستتعرّف ثريّا على مراحل كانت تجهلها من حياة السوريين في تلك الفترة، خاصّة أن أبطال المخطوط ينتمون إلى بيئات ومناطق مختلفة، ما يقلب مخطّط رحلتها. فتقرّر ثريّا البحث عن مصائر شخصيات غَيم حدّاد
