له في الرواية "بناية ماتيلد" و"غناء البطريق" و"لعب حيّ البياض" و"ماكياج خفيف لهذه الليلة".
وفي القصّة "تحت شرفة أنجي" و"نزهة الملاك".
ترجمت رواياته إلى الإنكليزية والفرنسية والألمانية والإيطالية.
ولد حسن داوود سنة 1951، وهو يعمل صحفي في اليومية البيروتية "المستقبل"، درس الأدب العربي بالجامعة اللبنانية في بيروت.
ظهرت أوّل رواية له باللغة الفرنسية بعنوان "ضيعة ماتلدا" سنة 1998، وتبعتها رواية ثانية بعنوان "الأيام الأخيرة"، وهي دراسة نفسية عميقة حول الشيخوخة.

«جئتُ من أجل الباخرة»، إجابةٌ عابرةٌ أطلقها سالم وهو يشرح سبب قدومه إلى رحلة قصيرة عبر النهر، قرّر أن يكتب فيها ويقرأ. كل الذين أتوا كانوا أزواجاً، ورجعوا كذلك، اثنين اثنين، سوى فريال التي «انتقمت» من الأمل الأخير لتميم، فنزلت فجأة من الباص. سالم فقط أتى وحيداً، وعاد وحيداً، دون أن يدري هل كان يجب أن يفعل شيئاً لمن لاحقت خياله دون شهوته، لمى! لقد خانته التفاصيل، التي لم تغب عنه أصغرها، لكنه لم يجد إلا أن يقنع نفسه بما سمعه من تميم: في الرحلات، لا شيء مما يحدث يحدث حقيقة، تماماً كما الأحلام.
