عندما يكون الحديث أو البحث في عالم السياسة، وبالتحديد عن النظام السياسي لبلدٍ ما، ويكون الباحث مواطناً في ذلك البلد، فإن الحديث يصبح مبتوراً أو محذوراً، كما تصبح عملية البحث عن الحقيقة، ممنوعة ومحظورة.
حول النظام السياسي، تُرسم دوائر حمراء لا يمكن اختراقها والنظر داخلها، وإن حاول الباحث، خلال رحلة بحثه عن الحقيقة، دخول المجال الأحمر، فإنه يُعرّض نفسه لمواقف عصيبة، أقلها اتهامه بالتنكر لفضل الوطن عليه، وأكبرها وأقساها على النفس، اتهامه بعدم الولاء للوطن. ففي مجتمعاتنا العربية، للأسف الشديد، يرتبط مفهوم الولاء، بالنظام الحاكم وليس فقط بالوطن، فإذا وجّه أحدهم نقداً للنظام أو أحد رموزه، فإن ذلك النقد ينتقص من درجة ولائه وحبه لوطنه، على العكس تماماً من المجتمعات الغربية المتقدمة التي تمكنت منذ ما يزيد على القرن الزمني، من التخلص من هذه العقدة والمعضلة التي تربط ولاء الشعوب بحكوماتها. ولذلك نلاحظ نحن الاجتماعيون أن أنظمتنا العربية ترحب بالباحثين من التيار المحافظ وتدعمهم وتُقلدهم المناصب الرفيعة، فيما تحارب أصحاب التيار الراديكالي وتضيق عليهم الخناق حتى لا يبحثوا في المحظور ويكشفوا المستور.
