تُعدّ رواية «المعلّم ومارغريتا» للكاتب الروسي ميخائيل بولغاكوف (دار التنوير- ترجمة يوسف حلاق) إحدى أبرز روايات الحب المحفزة لأنواع مختلفة من المشاعر. اشتغل ميخائيل بولغاكوف على روايته لمدّة اثني عشر عاماً في ظلّ الديكتاتورية الستالينية، مدركاً تماماً أنه لن تكون له أيّ فرصة لنشرها في حياته. كتبها صاحبها وأحرق مخطوطتها عام 1930 ثمّ أعاد كتابتها من ذاكرته عام 1931، وأنهى مسوّدتها الثانية عام 1936 ثم الثالثة عام 1937 وظلّ يعمل على إعداد المخطوطة الرابعة حتى وفاته عام 1940. ولم تجد الرواية طريقها الى النور إلا بعد ستة وعشرين عاماً، عندما نشرتها أرملته في مجلة موسكو الأدبية في حلقات بدءاً من تشرين الثاني (نوفمبر) 1966.
نسخ بولغاكوف فصول الرواية الأخيرة حنى آخر مسودة، ومات قبل أن يلائم بينها وبين الرواية وفق نسختها الأخيرة، فتولت زوجته ضمّ الفصول الأخيرة من المسودات السابقة إلى المسودة الأخيرة للراوية، قبل إعداد النسخة الأخيرة منها.
