تدور احداث الرواية عن شقة جديدة ,تطل احدى غرفها على احدى المقابر,اشتراها البطل وانتقل للعيش فيها هو وأفراد اسرته ومن يومها وتغير حال ابنته الكبرى فأصبحت مخيفة غامضة ترعب من حولها وتحقد عليهم ,و انتشار بعض جرائم القتل الغامضة وتدور الشبهات حول احد الشواهد وكتاب سحر أسود يتحدث عن عشرين شيطانا عاشوا في الارض من قرون و تزوجوا من البشر ولا احد يعرف عن ذريتهم شيئا ,و يحلم الأب بابنته وهي تستغيث من احد القبور وتخبره بأن تلك الفتاة التي تعيش معهم ليست هي ,وهنا يحاول الاب اكتشاف الحقيقة ومعرفة من تكون تلك الفتاة ويشك الاب بأنها ليست ابنته ولكنها ابنته الاخرى التي اخبره بأنها ماتت من سنيين وهنا لا يتردد الأب لحظة واحدة في الذهاب معها الى رحلة الى العالم السفلي عالم الشياطين لمحاولة استعادة ابنته ومعرفة الحقيقة ولماذا هو بالذات وليس الآخرين ..؟وهناك يكتشف ما لم يكن يخطر له على بال وما لم يتخيل ان يراه في اسوء كوابيسه
