لو أن مبارك خطط لفترة انتقالية ينتقم فيها من ثوار يناير الذين أزالوا دولته ووضعوه خلف القضبان كأسد جريح ما جاءت بمثل هذا السوء والارتباك.
بعد نحو عامين ونصف من الإطاحة بمبارك ما زالت مصر تمشي بظهرها، تنظر للأمام وتسير إلى الخلف، تعاقب على حكمها المجلس الأعلى للقوات المسلحة وجماعة الإخوان المسلمين، وتفنن الاثنان في الحكم بالوكالة عن الثورة المضادة، ما خيرا بين أمرين إلا اختارا أسوأهما، وما وضعا أنفسهما في شئ إلا أفسداه.
توقفت لأتذكر ما حدث في هذه الفترة من خطايا وأخطاء وحوادث وأحداث فوجدت الكثير منها في الطريق إلى النسيان على أهميته، ولذلك فكرت في عرض وتوثيق وتحليل ما حدث، أولا لكي يتحمل كل فريق مسئوليته أمام التاريخ، وثانيا حتى نتعلم من الأخطاء الكثيرة التي وقعت في هذه الفترة فلا نكررها بنفس الطريقة - كعادتنا دوماً - حيث لم نعد نمتلك رفاهية إهدار المزيد من الوقت.
هذا الكتاب محاولة للتغلب على آفة النسيان التي تسببت في تكرار الأخطاء نفسها أكثر من مرة، والتي حرمتنا من كل فرصة للانطلاق وتجاوز صعوبات الواقع.. وأتمنى أن ينجح في ذلك فعلاً.
