الكتاب هو وثيقة مهمة توضع فيها النظرة الغربية لصورة بغداد بمواجهة النظرة الشرقية، لكي لا نقول أنه درس في علم النظرة يلائم بين الطوبوغرافية والذاكرة الذاتية.
