ابن طيفور (204 - 280 هـ = 819 - 893 م)
أحمد بن طيفور (أبي طاهر) الخراساني، أبو الفضل: مؤرخ، من الكتاب البلغاء الرواة.
أصله من مرو الروذ، ومولده ووفاته ببغداد.
كان مؤدب أطفال.
له نحو خمسين كتابا، منها (تاريخ بغداد) طبع منه المجلد السادس، و (المنثور والمنظوم) أربعة عشر جزءا بقي منها جزآن.
أحدهما الحادي عشر، طبعت قطعة منه باسم (بلاغات النساء) والآخر الثاني عشر، مخطوط.
وله (كتاب المؤلفين) و (سرقات الشعراء) و (سرقات البحتري من أبي تمام) و (فصل العرب على العجم) و (أخبار بشار بن برد) وله شعر قليل أورد ياقوت نبذا لطيفة منه

Book Description
إن حبَّ الوطن، والإعتزازَ به، والفخرَ بالإنتماءِ إليه، والذي ظهَرَ مُبكّراً عندَ المؤرِّخ المسلم، أبْرَزَ إتّجاهاً جديداً في الكتابةِ التاريخية، يعبِّرُ تعبيراً محبَّباً عن شعورِ الجماعة بالإرتباطِ الوثيق بيْنَ الإنسانِ ومكانِ مَوْلدِه ومَرْباه.
وقد بَدَا ذلك الشعورُ واضحاً - على سبيل المثال - في دوافع صاحبِ كتاب (محَاسن أصفَهان) حينَما وضَعَ كتابَه، وكلّ مؤرخي البلدانيّات كابن عساكر والمقريزي وابن الدبّاغ وابن ناجي وغيرهم.
ومن الطبيعيِّ أن يكونَ المؤرِّخ - وهُو ابنُ بيئتِه - عارفاً بمدينِته وبكلِّ ما يتعلقُ بجغرافيِتها وتاريخِها وفضائِلها وأهلِها ورِجالها، فيضعُ مصنَّفَه في جانبٍ أو أكثرَ من تلك الجوانب، وهذا النوعُ من المصنّفاتِ هُو ما يُطلقُ عليه تواريخُ البُلدانِ أوِ التواريخُ المحلية.
وقد اهتمَّ كثيرٌ من المؤرِّخين المسلمينَ بكتابةٍ تواريخَ لبُلْدانِهم، فقلّما توجَدُ مدينةٌ بخُراسانَ وما وراءَ النهر - على سبيل المثال - لم يُكتَبْ لها تاريخ.
ونجدُ أبا عليٍّ السَّلاميَّ (ت 300هـ) يحضُّ أصحابَ المعرفةِ من أهلِ المدُنِ أن يَعرِفوا تواريخَ مدُنِهم ويحفظوها ويُوثِّقوها، فليس أَزْرى بالمؤرِّخ من أن يجهَلَ أخبارَ أرْضِه، ومن الأوْلى أن يكتبَ تاريخَ بلدِه قبْلَ أن يكتبَ تاريخَ بلدٍ آخر.
