وفي القصّة "تحت شرفة أنجي" و"نزهة الملاك".
ترجمت رواياته إلى الإنكليزية والفرنسية والألمانية والإيطالية.
ولد حسن داوود سنة 1951، وهو يعمل صحفي في اليومية البيروتية "المستقبل"، درس الأدب العربي بالجامعة اللبنانية في بيروت.
ظهرت أوّل رواية له باللغة الفرنسية بعنوان "ضيعة ماتلدا" سنة 1998، وتبعتها رواية ثانية بعنوان "الأيام الأخيرة"، وهي دراسة نفسية عميقة حول الشيخوخة.

"لطالما تساءلتُ: إذا كان أساتذة المدرسة يتزاملون لأنّهم أساتذة مدرسة، وإذا كان شوفيريّة السيّارات يلتقون معاً لأنّهم شوفيريّة سيّارات، وإذا كانوا كذلك مثلهم شغّيلة الأفران، والمتعلّقون بلعبة كرة القدم يتفرّجون على مبارياتها في التلفزيون، والعاشقون الواقعون في الغرام، إذا كانوا كلّهم يصاحب بعضهم بعضاً، فلماذا إذن يظلّ أولئك الثلاثة، الذين يسمّونهم مهابيل الضيعة، متفرّقين هكذا، لا يسلّم أحدهم على الآخر حين يراه؟".
