له في الرواية "بناية ماتيلد" و"غناء البطريق" و"لعب حيّ البياض" و"ماكياج خفيف لهذه الليلة".
وفي القصّة "تحت شرفة أنجي" و"نزهة الملاك".
ترجمت رواياته إلى الإنكليزية والفرنسية والألمانية والإيطالية.
ولد حسن داوود سنة 1951، وهو يعمل صحفي في اليومية البيروتية "المستقبل"، درس الأدب العربي بالجامعة اللبنانية في بيروت.
ظهرت أوّل رواية له باللغة الفرنسية بعنوان "ضيعة ماتلدا" سنة 1998، وتبعتها رواية ثانية بعنوان "الأيام الأخيرة"، وهي دراسة نفسية عميقة حول الشيخوخة.

بلدة على الطريق، يخيّل لأصحاب المحال فيها أن العابرين سيشترون بضائعهم التي يكاد يغطيها الغبار. سكانها مختلفو المشارب والأصول والطوائف. تاريخ خفي يتوثَّق تحت سطح الأحداث، حيث الحرب وانقسام الجماعات والعداوات التي تنمو بصمت، وتقلب حياة سكان "الزهرانية".
