عزّة المرأة العجوز تعيش الانتظار كحياة كاملة. تجد في رشا المرأة الثلاثينيّة بوّابتها إلى عالم القراءة الذي تحب بعد أن ضعف بصرها. تعثر رشا على قصّة الشاعرة الثائرة تاج ابنة القرن التاسع عشر. تقرأ رشا الحكاية لعزّة فتغوص المرأتان في تفاصيل الحكاية وتقاطعاتها مع حياة كلّ منهما. وكأنّ الزمن يواصل سيرته دون انقطاع. حكاية تتكرّر لاغية الحدود الزمانيّة والمكانيّة وسط مجتمع ذكوريّ يمسك بزمام الأمور ويدير دفّة الحياة وفق مشيئته ورؤيته ومصلحته، وامرأة تحاول على مرّ العصور الانتصار لأنوثتها وأمومتها. روايةُ ثلاث نساء من أزمنة مختلفة عاشت كلّ منهنّ حياتها الخاصّة وتقاطعت مع حيوات الأخريات بالأمل والألم.
