نجوى بن شتوان (المولودة سنة 1970 ) هي أكاديمية ومؤلفة ليبية. اختيرت بين 39 كاتباً عربياً تحت سن الـ 40 للمشاركة في مشروع بيروت 39 سنة 2009. وصلت روايتها زرايب العبيد إلى التصفيات في مسابقة الجائزة العالمية للرواية العربية سنة 2017
سيرة حياتها
ولدت نجوى بن شتوان في إجدابيا في ليبيا سنة 1970. عملت كمحاضرة في جامعة بنغازي بعد حصولها على شهادة الماجستير، كما حصلت أيضا على درجة الدكتوراه في العلوم الإنسانية من جامعة لا سابينزا في روما، إيطاليا.
كان موضوع رسالة الدكتوراة عن تجارة العبيد في ليبيا وآثاره على المجتمع الليبي وتقسيماته خلال الفترة العثمانية من فترة (1552 - 1911)

تحترق زرايب العبيد، فينكشف كل ما كان خفيّاً. تجمع بين السيد محمد والعبدة تعويضة علاقة حب تُعدُّ محرَّمة في عُرف السادة الذين اعتادوا اتّخاذ العبدات خليلات. فيرسل الوالد ابنه في تجارةٍ لإبعاده، وتسقي الأم تعويضة سائلاً في محاولةٍ لإجهاض جنينها، ثم يتمّ تزويجها بأحد العبيد. عند عودة محمد من رحلته يعلم أنّ أهله قد قتلوا ابنه وأرسلوا حبيبته إلى حيث لا يدري، فيبدأ البحث عنها، ولكن دون جدوى... «زرايب العبيد» ترفع الغطاء عن المسكوت عنه من تاريخ العبودية في ليبيا؛ ذلك التاريخ الأسود الذي ما زالت آثاره ماثلة حتى يومنا الراهن.
