انزعج الجد عبد القوي؛ ارتعش رأسه، ورفرفت يداه حول أذنيه ليتجنب الأذى:
-إيه؛ نحلة؟
-لا ، عصفور الأوهام يا جدي، هش هش.
دار الجد بعينيه في فضاء الغرفة باحثا عن الطائر المنفلت:
-خايلتني يا نصر، اجلس يا ابن الغالي واسمعني.
الولد لم يجلس، خرج وهو يصفر للعصفور الوهمي:
-باي باي يا عصفور.
تبعه الجد حتى أول السلم:
-لو فكرت لعرفت أن كلامي صح، وطاوعتني.
