نجيب العقيقي (1335 - 1402 هـ = 1916 - 1982 م)
• أديب وكاتب نصراني، من أهل لبنان.
• ولد في بلدة كفردبيان وتعلم في المدرسة الوطنية
• عمل في الصحافة. في الأحوال، والشرق، والمساء، وعلّم الأدب العربي في الكلية البطريركية، (1936/ 1938)
• رحل بعدها إلى مصر واشتغل بالتدريس: علم الأدب العربي - قسم الثقافة المصرية، والأدب العربي والترجمة، والفلسفة الإسلامية، وفي مدرسة الراهبات الفرنسيسكانيات.
• كما عمل بالادارة الثقافية في جامعة الدول العربية: رشحته وزارة الخارجية اللبنانية لوظيفة في جامعة الدول العربية فعمل فيها - من ملحق إلى مستشار (1952 - 1974).
• توفي بالقاهرة سنة 1981 م، وقيل سنة 1982 م.

• «المستشرقون» في ثلاث مجلدات، ويعتبر من أوثق وأفضل ما كُتب عن هذا الموضوع بالعربية.
