يستدرجنى الغضب إلى مقال مباشر. ليس هكذا تكتب الحكايات. مهمتى صعبة يا شهرزاد، الأنقاض كثيرة، وعلى جدك أن ينقض كثيرا قبل أن يغزل لك كساء من هذه الحكاية، او يقيم منها مبنى له منطق ومعمار. جدك ضائع يا بنت، نقض الوزر ظهره وأقعده. ستقول البنت...، لا لن تفصح فهي حيية تراعيني، ستقول لنفسها: جدي يتعثر، يتوهم في نفسه القدرة على جمع خيوط قرنين من الزمان وفتلها في حبل واحد ويقول شدوا! شاخ جدي، سحبته الشيخوخة إلى عاطفية المسنين، يثير الإشفاق ويتوسل الرحمة! لا أتوسل الرحمة يا بنت، لا أتوهم، أريد أن أحكي الحكاية، أريد الدقة. أريد العدل. لا أريد شيئاً. "غير مجد في ملتي واعتقادي/ نوح باك ولا ترنم شاد". سأنقشها نقشاً على لوحة، أعلقها بباب البيت، أتربع وراء الباب، أسده بظهري متدثراً من أعلى رأسي إلى أخمص قدمي بخيوط ما نكثته من كساء. أغلق عيني وأسقط في البئر. لا يا ولد، لا تنظر في البئر، لا تبحث عن حبل غليظ تشد به الرجل الطيب، غير مجد.
هز الناظر رأسه وأشاح بيده وفز إلى الحمام. خلع ملابسه وفتح الرشاش وترك الماء يندفع بقوة على رأسه وكتفيه وجسده. تصبن وتليف مرتين ثم أنهى حمامه. تنشف ومشط شعره وارتدى قميصاً نظيفاً مكويا وجلس للكتابة".
