«السلطنة العثمانية وأوروبا» للمؤرخ التركي خليل إنالسيك صدر بطبعته العربية عن الدار العربية للعلوم ناشرون في بيروت، ترجمه إلى العربية إسماعيل كاظم وراجعه مركز التعريب والبرمجة. يتناول الكتاب الدور المهم للسلطنة العثمانية في تشكيل التاريخ الأوروبي، ويشتمل على مقالات بحثية عن الخصائص الأساسية للسلطنة العثمانية وعلاقاتها السياسية/الاقتصادية مع أوروبا. وهو محاولة لإحداث توافق زمني مع التاريخ الأوروبي، فإنالسيك يركز هنا على المعاملة بالمثل مع الآخرين، وهذه المعاملة تعدُّ ركيزة أساسية للثقافة العثمانية. كذلك يعنى الكتاب بالظاهرتين السياسية والاجتماعية خلال القرن الثامن عشر، ويتطرق لنهوض طبقة النبلاء وتطورها، ومحاولات فرض امتيازات النبلاء على الحكومة المركزية من خلال المعاهدات، والفشل الذي تبع هذه العملية، كما يتحدث عن الازدواجية في الدولة والمؤسسات الاجتماعية، والتي ظهرت في الدول الغربية والإسلامية وعلاقتها بحركات الإصلاح على النمط الغربي في القرن التاسع عشر، ويناقش أيضاً مفاهيم التغريب والتحديث في عهد أتاتورك من خلال التركيز على مسألة إلغاء الخلافة، ويعرض لجولة أفق منذ العام 1500 وحتى نشأة تركيا الحديثة.
