تسرد حكاية ( سعيد حزوم ) الرجل الذي ولد لبحار مغامر هو ( صالح حزوم ) والذي كان يمثل قمة الرجولة وحب المغامرة ، والنضال ليس لدى سعيد فحسب بل لدى كل الذين خبروا البحر وعرفوا تحولاته .
الرواية تأخذنا مع البطل ومحاولاته لأن يكون صورة من والده الذي اختفى في ظروف غامضة ، وتصور الأحداث التخبط والصراع الذي يواجهه البطل في سبيل أن يكون هو ذاته امتداداً لحياة وبطولات والده ، لا مجرد شخص يعيش في ظل سيرة والده المعروفة .
ولعل أجمل ما في الرواية هو معايشة القاريء وتحمسه لمحاولات سعيد الدؤوبة نحو تحقيق البطولة والتفرد .
