في قرية مهجورة وبعيدة عن المدينة، قتل الجن زوج المشعوذة، جدّة البطلة، فكانت هي أول من يقتل أحد الجن انتقامًا لموت زوجها، لكنها تموت بأبشع الطرق بسببهم. ومنذ ذلك الحين، يقوم الجن كل عام باختيار شخص من أهل القرية لتعذيبه وإعادته إلى مقبرة القرية بعد مرور عام معذّبًا، حيث يقطعون أطرافه ويعيش أهل القرية في رعب دائم حتى يحين دور الحفيدة.
البطلة، التي تبلغ عشرين عامًا، أول من يصل إلى هذا العمر من الصبيان، لأن معظمهم يموتون في سن صغيرة دون أن يُخطفوا، لكن دورها قد حان. فتكتشف عالم الجن الغامض وأسراره المظلمة، ولن تعود مقطعة الأطراف أو معذّبة كبقية أهل القرية، بل ستصبح ملكة من ملكاء الجن!
