Book Description
إنجيل برنابا، الذي لا ينبغي الخلط بينه وبين رسالة برنابا أو أعمال برنابا، هو إنجيل بديل ليسوع المسيح يتعارض مع رؤية العهد الجديد الكتابية ليسوع. هذه النسخة مترجمة من مخطوطة إيطالية، ولكن كانت هناك أيضًا مخطوطة إسبانية فُقدت في وقت ما من القرن الثامن عشر حتى تم اكتشاف نسخة منها في سبعينيات القرن العشرين. يُفترض أن كلتا المخطوطتين مأخوذتان من نص عربي أصلي.
يتبنى الإنجيل رؤية إسلامية للمسيحية، ويزعم أن يسوع تنبأ بقدوم المسيح محمد. إلا أنه لا يؤكد صلب يسوع أو ألوهيته، ويعتبره كثيرون نصًا تصويريًا مزيفًا من أواخر العصر. قام الزوجان لونسديل راغ ولورا راغ بتحرير وترجمة المخطوطة الإيطالية لإنجيل برنابا، وكتبا مقدمة مفصلة للكتاب، طرحا فيها عدة حجج مقنعة حول سبب اعتبار معظم الباحثين للوثيقة مزيفة.
