تهتمّ هذه الدراسة بالتشكيل في التراث الشعريّ، وتنظر إلى التشكيل بمعناه الواسع، فهو مرن، ومتلوّن، ويتجلّى في أشكال مختلفة، فثمّة تشكيل بلاغيّ بالصورة، وتشكيل حجاجيّ، وسِيْريّ، ودراميّ، وموسيقيّ، وتوليفيّ، وثمة تشكيل للفضاء، وللغة، ونظرنا إلى الشعر في التراث العربي على أنّه رؤية، ورؤيا مقدّمتان بالتشكيل الفنيّ، والقصيدة التي تحقّق هذه المعادلة تتحوّل من قصيدة فكرة، ووصف، وسرد إلى قصيدة حدس، ودلالة.
والشعر العربي القديم شعر رؤيا منذ الجاهلية، وقد سعينا إلى إثبات قدرة الشاعر العربي القديم على بناء قصيدته بناء رؤياوياً، والرؤيا -بوصفها عمليّة إبداع- تثوّر اللغة، والشكل معاً.
وقد تخيّرنا من النصوص ما يمثّل محطات مهمّة في تاريخ الشعريّة العربيّة في التراث العربيّ، يضاف إلى ذلك اهتمامنا بدراسة نماذج شعريّة لشعراء مشهورين ومغمورين، تتعلق برؤى متوارثة، أو متطوّرة، ونجم اختيار النصوص الشعريّة الكاملة عن أنّها تمثّل بوضوح الجانب الذي ستتمّ دراسته، وتركنا لكلّ نصّ أن يخبرنا بالمنهج الذي نتعامل معه على أساسه.
وتمّت معالجة كلّ نص على وفق محورين:
-المصطلح النقدي المعاصر الذي يطبَّق على النصوص الأدبية التراثيّة بهدف الكشف عن أنساقها، وبلاغة تشكيلها.
-النص الأدبي الذي يثبت قدرة النص التراثي على الانفتاح على أدوات النقد المعاصر.
