"جماليات المعنى الشعري" كتاب نحى فيه الدكتور عبد القادر الرباعي منحى الدراسة النصية، لشعراء كبار مشهود لهم بالتقدم في الفن هم: أبو تمام، والبحتري من القدامى، ومحمود درويش، وصلاح عبد الصبور، وعبد الوهاب البياتي من المحدثين. وحرص على أن تكون النصوص المدروسة في موضوع واحد عند فئتين من الشعراء. فدرس نصين لأبي تمام والبحتري في الربيع. وتناول ثلاث قصائد لمحمود درويش وصلاح عبد الصبور وعبد الوهاب البيتاتي في الليل، وخرج بنتيجة، هي "أن الظاهرة الواحدة تتحول في الشعر إلى معان متعددة السياقات والتجارب، والنمط الشعري لكل شاعر يستخدمها".
وتقدم على الدراسة النصية فصل تناول الأبعاد النظرية للتشكيل الشعري. وذيل الكتاب بفصل عني بنقد النقد، ناقش فيه رأي ياروسلاف استتكيفتش في القصيدة العربية.
إن هذا الكتاب يعد إضافة نوعية لدراسة الشعر العربي-قديمه وحديثه-كما يعد امتداداً للدراسات الجادة التي عرف بها الدكتور عبد القادر الرباعي فيما صدر له من بحوث ودراسات.
