◾ تدور رسائل الكتاب حول السيد طيف الذي يتجلَّى لامرأةٍ قُدّر عليها حياة الاغتراب خارج حدود وطنها، فاصطنعت لنفسها معه عالماً مؤنساً، تكتب فيه رسائلَ تحكيها إليه، بل وتكتبه هو ذاته إليه، على أملِ أن يُجيبها على حينِ غفلة من الواقع، رسائل تطرق أبوابَ الأدبِ والنِّقاشات حول الكُتب وما تحوي، ثم تعرج إلى خفايا النَّفس والقلب مستخرجة منهما مكنوناتٍ عصيّة التجلِّي لأيِّ أحد، تمرُّ السنون وهي كما هي على عهدِ الكتابة إليه حتى إذا وضعت الغربة أوزارها، وعادَ الجسد إلى منشأه الأوَّل، وظنَّت أنها قد انقطعت منه ومن إلهامه بل ومن سكناه إياها؛ فإذ بها لا تجدُ لنفسها راحةً من دونهِ وقد امتدَّت حياة الاغتراب فيها، ولم تعد تلك التي تعرف من نفسها رغمَ الأهل والوطن، فتعودُ إليه، وتكتب من جديد، تكتب هذه المرَّة حياة الأرواحِ المحلِّقة رغمَ أنفِ بلادةِ الدُّنيا وواقع مادّتها الرَّتيب.
