الرواية يتطرق فيها إلى سيرة فتى عربي يطلب العلم في بلاد المهجر وبالتحديد في فرنسا. والرواية إضافة إلى هذا، فهي تصور أجواء حياة الطلبة بمختلف مشاربهم وبلدانهم الأصلية والتحاور الحضاري العميق بين الثقافة الشرقية والغربية في لغة تتميز بالانسياب الشعري وبتعددية الأجناس المنضوية تحتها ،حيث يحضر جنس الرسائل الأدبية كما تحضر الأحلام ، يحضر الشعر المكتوب باللغة العربية والشعر المكتوب بالدارجة المغربية ، كما تحضر تقنية التذكر ولعبة الاستشراف، والتصوير السينمائي مبنى ومعنى ،إضافة إلى التخييل الذاتي والغيري في بوتقة أدبية متكاملة. تقع الرواية في حوالي 150صفحة، وتفتح ببيت شعري للمتصوف الكبير محيي الدين بن عربي يمجد فيه الحب والتسامح ، في حين تختتم ببيت شعري آخر للشاعر الكبير امرئ القيس يبين فيه مدى كثرة أسفاره وتعدديتها وقناعته بعد كل طوافه حول العالم بالرجوع إلى موطنه . وتتكون الرواية من عشرة فصول هي: "رسائل الحب"، " وهج الظهيرة"، سطوة الأحلام"، صخرة الألم"، " هديل القلب"، " ترويض الأفعى"، "تفاحة العشق"، "رقصة الأشواق"، "زوار الليل" و"كذبة أبريل"،مشكلة تناسقية كبرى فيما بينها ومحققة وحدة روائية كلية .
