رواية "وجع الحلم" للكاتب داود سلمان عجاج، الصادرة عام 2025، عمل روائي يغوص في قرية عراقية على ضفاف دجلة، حيث يتشابك الحلم مع الخوف والفقد. يروي فاهم حكايته مع أخويه قاسم وحازم، وقد علّق على حازم آماله في التغيير والنجاة. لكن عودة حازم تحمل غموضاً وقلقاً، ثم يُعتقل قاسم، وتتصاعد أجواء الحرب والقمع. يعيش الراوي صراعاً بين الحنين إلى الطفولة، ومرارة الواقع، وضياع الأحلام. تهجر القرية، ثم يعود إليها ليجد كتبه محترقة وذكرياته منكسرة. تتكرر الصور كمرايا مكسورة: الخيمة، النهر، الغرفة، وأصوات الطبول البعيدة. وتكشف الرواية كيف يتحول الحلم إلى عبء، وكيف تسحق السياسة والقهر الأفراد والأسر. يظل السرد متأرجحاً بين اليقظة والكابوس، والذاكرة والوهم، وطرح أسئلة عن الحرية والكرامة والانتماء. إنها مرثية للطفولة والأخوة، وصرخة ضد زمن يبتلع الأحلام قبل ولادتها، بأسلوب شاعري. يستدعي النص أسطورة عنترة، وحكايات الجدات، والرموز الشعبية، ليرسم خرائط الوجع العراقي. وتبقى الذاكرة سكاكين تجرح كل من يقترب. فهل ينتصر الحلم؟ أم يتكرر الوجع؟ نص مفتوح.
