كلمة طور فى القرآن قليلة الورود وما جاء عنها كله بمعنى واحد هو جبل الطور فى سيناء وفى الجبل قال الله مقسما بسورة الطور"والطور وكتاب مسطور "وقال بسورة التين "والتين والزيتون وطور سينين "وذكر أن منه تخرج شجرة الزيتون فقال بسورة المؤمنون "وشجرة تخرج من طور سيناء "كما رفعه الله على بنى إسرائيل فقال بسورة البقرة "ورفعنا فوقكم الطور "وأما جمع طور وهى أطوار فقد ذكرت مرة فى سورة نوح حيث قال "ما لكم لا ترجون لله وقارا وقد خلقكم أطوارا "وهى الكلمة الوحيدة المتحدثة عن التطور بالمعنى المراد فى حديثنا ومعنى القول :ما لكم لا تجعلون لله طاعة وقد أنشأكم مراحلا ؟ومن ثم فالتطور هو المرور بمراحل مختلفة فى الخلق وكل مرحلة تختلف عن الأخرى فى الشكل العام وأطوار خلق الإنسان هى :
السلالة الطينية وهى التراب والماء ،النطفة ،العلقة ،المضغة ،العظام،كسوة العظام باللحم ،الإنشاء الأخر وهو وضع النفس فى الجسد
