عبس رامي مكشرً وهو يجاري والده في المزاح ويمسك الهاتف ويطلب رقم زوجة أخيه التي أجابته سريعًا، ولكنه تعمد تجاهل الرد عليها ، مستدركًا لوالده الذي لم يلاحظ خطته قائلاً:
-وهل ستقبل زوجة أخي الجميلة بأن يتزوج عليها من صغيرتي؟! التي تريد حرماني منها لتزوجها لأبنك المفضل حتى تعيد له شبابه المهدور؟!
استمع لشهقتها الخافتة ، وهو يستمع لرده الذى أوقعه في شره:
لن تعترض على ماحلله الله من شرع ، ثم أنها من ستعيد أبني للوطن ولا داعي ليخبر ريتال عنها!..
حينها صدح صراخها ليفتح مكبر الصوت، ووالده يصعق من ملامح البراءة التي يطالعه بها ، ليهز كتفيه مستفزًا إياه، لتضحك والدته عليهم وتسحب الهاتف من يده معتذرة على سوء التفاهم قائلة:
-ريتال حبيبتي لا تفهمي الأمر بشكل خاطيء، أنه مجرد مزاح ثقيل بين الأثنين؟!
هدأت ريتال وهي تجيبها بإمتعاض:
-الآن علمت لِمَ لم يزورنا أحد منكم طوال فترة سفرنا !..حقًا!! تريد أن تزوجه من أخري يا عماه ؟!.. وأنتِ يا ماما تستمعين لهذا الهراء ولا تدافعين عن حقي؟! ألست أبنتك؟؟.
صدحت ضحكة خيرية عالية وهي تجيبها بيأس من قلة عقلها:
-أنا كنت أجلس بينهم مستمعة بلا أكتراث لأني أعلم بأنه مجرد مزاح لا أكثر!..
أجابتها ريتال بنزق وفتور:
-وأن كان يا ماما ، كنت أنتظر منكِ الثأر ليّ والدافع عن حقي في ولدك، الآن علمت نواياكم!. ولن يفلت أحد من عقابي؟!..
