هذه الأبحاث ليست من أبحاث الفقهاء الجامدين المقلدين. ولا هى من أبحاث المترددين الذين يبدو لهم الحق ثم يخشون الجهر به. ولا هى من أبحاث المجردين الهدأمين. الذين لا يفهمون الإسلام ، ولا يريدون إلا تجريد الأمم الإسلامية من دينهم ، ومن الثبات عليه ونصره . ولا هى من أبحاث المجددين العصريين الذين تتبخر المعاني والنظريات في رؤوسهم ، ثم تنزو بها عقولهم فهم يطيرون بها فرحا، ويظنون أن الإسلام هو ما يبدو لعقولهم ويوافق أهواءهم ، وأنه دين التسامح ، فيتسامحون في كل شئ من أصوله وفروعه وقواعده كلا. إنما هى أبحاث علمية حرة، على نهج أبحاث المجددين الصادقين، من السلف الصالح رضوان الله عليهم، الذين كانوا يصدعون بالحق، لا يخافون لومة لائم. وكانوا يخشون ربهم ولا يخشون أحدا إلا الله. ولست أرى بأسا من وصفها بما وصف به أبو الطيب شعره: قواف إذا سرن عن مقولى وثبن الجمال وضن البحارا وسيرى القارئ أني لا أريد بذلك فخرا ، ولا أقوله غرورا وأني إن شاء الله من الصادقين.
