سفر نشيد الاناشيد هو سفر غزلي من أسفار العهد القديم هناك اختلاف على كاتبه وطريقة إلحاقه به حتى اعتبره الكثير نوعًا من الفلكلور الشعبي القديم، ويقول المؤلف يوحنا قمبر في مقدمة الكتاب: نقلت نشيد الأناشيد عن نقول فرنسية ولاتينية وعربية وسريانية، وتبين لي أثناء النقل مابين الترجمات من تباين، فشعرت بالحاجة إلى شخص عالم بالعبرية ومن مفسري الكتاب المقدس لكي نصحح ما نقلت بالعودة إلى الأصل العبري وإلى أئمة التفسير. وكان أن وجدت الأب لويس خليفة استاذ العهد القديم في جامعة الروح القدس، وممن يعرفون ما أعرف من لغات ويعرف العبرية والألمانية فتيسر لنا أوسع اطلاع وأدق فهم.
راجعنا النقل الأول. دققنا وصححنا، ما فاتنا صبر، أو بخلنا بوقت، ثم قام الأب خليفة بشرح النشيد شرحًا علميًا لاهوتيًا مستعينًا بأحدث المراجع وأوثقها، والأب خليفة مسؤول عن فهم النص العبري وشرحه اللاهوتي، وأنا مسؤول عن الأداء العربي نقلًا وشرحًا.
