إن "روايات خلق العالم" وصُوَرَها الشعبية التي ترينا إلهاً صانعاً يجبل آدم من الطين أو جرّاحاً ينزع ضِلعاً ليكوّن حوّاء... والــ "تفّاحة" والفردوس المفقود... كل ذلك "لم يعُد مقبولاً".
ولكن عقليّتنا قبلَته في الماضي إلى حد الإفراط، فساهم ذلك في الوصول إلى إقتناع نجده عند كثير من غير المؤمنين (ومن المؤمنين؟) بأن الإنسان لا يستطيع في آن واحد أن يؤمن بالعلم وبالكتاب المقدس.
لقد أدّى بنا تفسير خاطئ للفصول الأولى من سفر التكوين إلى خسارة على جميع الأصعدة، إذْ أثار إعتراضات يظنّ غير المؤمن أنها لا تُذلَّل، كما أنه وضع المؤمن في موقف حرج تجاه إيمانه، وهناك موضوع لعلّه أشدّة خطورة، هو أن ذلك التفسير الخاطئ ركَّز إنتباهنا على الصُوَر فحرمنا من الوصول إلى الجوهر، أي الرسالة التي تفيدنا عن الإنسان وعن وجوده في واقع الحال.
إلاّ أن أهل الإختصاص في الكتاب المقدس علّمونا، منذ عشرات السنين، كيف يجب أن نقرأ تلك الصفحات الرائعة قراءة صحيحة، لكن هذا التعليم لم ينتشر إلاَّ قليلاً، ولا سيّما في شرقنا العربي، مع كلّ الجهود التي بذلها أساتذة التعليم المسيحي والوعَّاظ.
هذا الكتاب من تأليف الأب Grelot، أستاذ الكتاب المقدس في المعهد الكاثوليكي بباريس وصاحب عدّة مؤلّفات في هذا الموضوع، يساعدنا على فهم هذه المؤلّفات، لكن، قبل الخوض في البحث الأدبي الذي يقوم به، إليك بعض صفحات تساعدنا على معرفة الأسئلة التي يطرحها الإنسان العصري والتي تجيب عنها روايات سفر التكوين.
