عندما أنظر لهذا الجيل الذي لا يعرف إلا الهاتف الخلوي, وتفكيره منحصر بالألعاب والتطبيقات والفيديوهات, وقد حرم من الحياة الحقيقية, فهو بعيد عن الطبيعة, بعيد عن المهارات التي يفترض أن يتعلّمها لأنه قد يحتاج لها عندما يكبر, وهو محروم من الأنشطة التي تبني قدراته الجسمية والعقلية والعاطفية... وتنمّي عنده قدرات التفكير, الناقد, والإبداعي, وحل المشكلات, وتقوّي المناعة في جسمه, وكذلك محروم من المتع البريئة التي كنا نعيشها, ومن الأطعمة المفيدة التي كنا نحصل عليها من الطبيعة.
وفي خضّم هذا الألم تذكّرت جوانب من طفولتنا, التي قد تكون ساذجة, بسيطة, غير مرفّهة, ولكنها كانت ممتعة جدا, وما زال ابناء جيلنا يتحسّر عليها.
هذه الرواية هي رواية لمرحلة الفتيان, وهي ليست رواية علمية أو تربوية, بشكل اساسي, ولكنّها وضعت لإبعاد الفتيان عن الأجهزة الرقمية, ولو لبعض الوقت, ونقل بعض ذلك الشعور الممتع الذي كنا نعايشه, وتشجيع المطالعة, وهي لا تخلو من معلومات في علوم الطبيعة, والتغذية والرياضة, والعلاقات الإنسانية, والأخلاق, وحتى معلومات تاريخية.
علما أن المكتبة العربية تعاني من نقص في هذا المجال, ونجد أن بعض الروايات الأجنبية المترجمة, تلاقي إقبالا كبيرا, سواء بالشكل المطبوع, أو من خلال تحويلها إلى أفلام كرتون, مثل رواية (توم سوير) للكاتب الأمريكي مارك توين.
أحداث الرواية بنيت على وقائع حقيقية في قرى محافظة اربد, وتم إضافة بعض الإضافات لإعطائها مزيد من التشويق, ولتوصيل بعض الرسائل الصغيرة, في المجالات التي ذكرتها قبل قليل.
