المسرحية نشرت عام ( 2002) الناشر الهيئة العامة لقصور الثقافة بالقاهرة ، وتدور المسرحية حول شخصيتين رئيسيتين : الأول أبو مسلم الخرساني قائد جيوش الدولة العباسية ، والذي استطاع بقوته وذكائه أن يكون القوة الضاربة للقضاء على اعداء ومنافسين العباسيين وكان من ضمن المؤسسين للخلافة العباسية ، والشخصية الثانية : أبو جعفر المنصور الخليفة العباسي الذي تولى الخلافة بعد اخيه ، وينشأ صراع حاد بين الشخصيتين ، كل منهما يريد السيطرة والهيمنة على الآخر ، أبو مسلم بما يملكه من سيطرة وتحكم في الجيوش العباسية فهو قائد منتصر على كل اعداء العباسيين ، وابو جعفر المنصور بما يملكه من حق شرعي بحكم انه الخليفة العباسي المعترف به ، وينتهي الصراع بين الرجلين بالقضاء على ابو مسلم الخرساني والذي وصل النفوذ الفارسي في عهده إلى درجة كبيرة كانت تهدد الخلافة العباسية والوجود العربي كله .
