از مسائلي كه امروز در جامعه بشري مورد علاقه صاحب نظران و علاقمندان به تحقيقات است، نقش اجتماعي زن در جامعه است. از آنجائي كه زن يكي از مخلوقات خاصه خداي عزوجل است كه تكامل هر مرد بر وجود زني بستگي دارد و اين امري انكار ناپذيري است و چه بسا مرداني را پرورش دادند كه جهان را در شگفتي فرو بردند و در تكامل انسان سازي نقش بسيار مهمي را بر عهده داشته اند كه هر جامعه شناس، مهر تأييد بر آن مي زند و نقش زنان را در فرهنگ سازي جامعه مي ستايد و چنانچه زندگي زن را در دوران ما قبل اسلام بنگريم ميبينيم كه همواره مردها رفتارهائي همانند حيوانات با زنان خود داشته اند. و زن را يكي از موجودات پست و ذليل به حساب مي¬آوردند و او را مانند يك كالا به بازار براي خريد و فروش مي¬بردند. چنانچه در زمان جاهليت در عرب رسم بر اين بود كه اگر دختري به دنيا ميآمد او را از ترس فقر و تنگدستي زنده به گور مي¬كردند..زندگي و پرورش زن در چنين حالتي بود كه اسلام با ظهور تابناكش تمام اين جاهليت ها را از بين برد و نقش واقعي زن را به زنان تقديم كرد. اين اوّلين باري بود كه زنان توانستند به وسيله¬ي اسلام حقوقشان را بدست بياورند تا جائيكه اسلام حق و حقوق زن را در امور معيشتي، ميراثي و مسائل زناشوئي به صراحت بيان ميدارد و هيچگونه چشم پوشي را در قبال حق زن نميپذيرد و جايگاه اصلي زن را تعيين كرد و روابط زناشوئي را به صورت قانون مندي مشروع گردانيد و حقوق هر يكي از زن و شوهر را مشخص كرد... این كتاب بطور مفصل در مورد حقوق زن در ادیان گذشته و افكار باطل و دین مقدس اسلام می پردازد و مقام و منزلت و احكام در مورد زنان را بیان می كند...
