لا تُذكر «الصوفية» وما تشتمل عليه من تجارب رُوحانية عميقة، تهدف إلى تزكية النفوس والارتقاء بها، إلَّا ويُذكر «محيي الدين بن عربي»؛ شيخ المتصوفين الأكبر منذ القرن السابع الهجري، رجل الأسرار، صاحب المقامات والكرامات واللدُنِّيات، ومؤلِّف «الفتوحات المكية» ذائعة الصيت. وبقدر ما بلغه «ابن عربي» في مملكة التصوف من رفيع المكانة، وما حازه من العلوم الدينية والعطايا الربانية، بقدر ما وقع الخلاف بشأنه «شخصًا وطريقةً»، فكان له من المؤيدين والمريدين كثيرون، وله من المُهوِّنين والقادحين الكثير، غير أن أحدًا لا يختلف على غَزارة إنتاجه، وعظمة آثاره، وفَرادة فكره وأسلوبه. على كل هذا وغيره من جوانب ذلك العَلَم من أعلام الصوفية، يُطلِعنا «طه عبد الباقي سرور» في كتابه الذي بين أيدينا، مانحًا قارئه إطلالةً متميِّزةً على مشهدٍ مثيرٍ للإعجاب.
