إن أوغيست كونت هو مؤسس الفلسفة الوضعية: لكنها تستعمل اليوم ضد الفلسفة لتشوهها. فما هي الوضعية؟ إنها في الشكل الأصلي الذي أراد كونت إعطاءه، جهد لتوحيد العلوم والسياسة بواسطة الفلسفة، وهي ضد العلموية والبراغماطيقية.
لقد لعب فكر كونت دوراً أساسياً في تطوير الإيديولوجيا الجمهورية في القرن التاسع عشر، وليس فقط في فرنسا: فهو كان مصدر إلهام للخطاب التربوي الذي كان أحد دعائمه الأساسية. فهل اكتمل هذا الفكر وهذا الحدس التاريخي الذي التصق به؟
