قلّة من الناس فقط يعرفون عني أكثر مما يعرفه رجلٌ التقيت به صدفةً في مصعد، أو امرأةٌ مُسِنّةٌ أجلستُها مكاني في حافلةِ ركّاب.
كنتُ دائمَ التكتّمِ على حياتي وكأنها فضيحةٌ أو خطيئة، دائمَ الحرصِ على دفنِ أسراري وتجاربي في داخلي، يلازمني إحساس أنني مهجورٌ أكثر من اللازم، مثل قبرٍ مفتوحٍ في مدينة يقطنها بشرٌ لا يموتون، بشرٌ خالدون أبداً.
قبرٍ هاربٍ من الجثث التي كانت تتهافت عليه في موطنه البعيد، هناك حيث يحترفُ الموتُ قَضْمَ الناس كل يوم وكل ساعة ودقيقة، وحيث تولُد قصةٌ مع كل شيء في البلاد المعجونة من طين الخوف، حتى الأشياء التي نظنها لا تخاف، تجزعُ على طريقتها، وصامتةً تدافع عن أصحابها أكثر مما تدافع عن نفسها، على طريقتها أيضاً.
أنا مهجور أكثر من اللازم، لذلك سألقي بجثتي في كل شارع أقف عند إشارته الضوئية، تحت عجلات القطار، على طاولة موظفة مكتب الأجانب، في الساحة العامة، على خشبة مسرح المدينة، وعلى الألسنة التي لا يفنى أصحابُها أبداً.
