دهمتها فجأة ذكرى الكلب، الكلب الذي حاولت أن تعالجهُ في الصغر، لكنه عضَّ صدرها الأيسر. فتساءلت في دواخلها عما فعله ذلك الكلب؟ لم يفعل شيئًا سوى ما حدث في الحقيقة. لكنها بعد مرور السنين وعبور الطفلة إلى عالم الأنوثة الثري، نضجتْ وأصبحتْ أمًّا وأنجبتْ طفلها الثاني، وبدأتْ تُرضعه من حليبها، تحوّل الطفلُ إلى كلبٍ ينبح. خافتْ على نفسها من نباحه، كأنها تسترجع قصة الكلب الذي نهشها في الصغر. فتلاطمت في رأسها الأسئلة، هذا ابني خالد، لا يمكن أن يفعل شيئًا كهذا! ترددتْ قليلًا وغمغمتْ: لكنهُ طفلٌ، والطفل لا عقلَ له، قد يحدث أثناء امتصاصه لحليبها أن يعضَّها بفمه، قد يتحول الطفل إلى كلب مسعور، قد تتحول هي نفسها إلى كلبة! ما الحلُّ إذنْ؟
