"قيد الدرس" هي الرواية الخامسة للكاتبة ضمن سلسلة رواياتها . بعد روايتها " ثلج القاهرة"، تعود الكاتبة إلى أجواء بيروت في عمل سردي طويل يرصد حياة أكثر من جيل، ويمتدّ زمن الرواية إلى ما قبل الحرب اللبنانيّة ويستمرّ إلى ما بعدها ،من بيروت في سبعينات القرن الماضي حتى عام 2012. وهي بذلك تضمر أن تكون "ملحمة" لزمن تاريخي موسوم بسؤال الهويّة على خلفيّة الشتات. الشتات بسبب الحروب والإقتتال والتهجير. تتبع الرواية مصير أفراد عائلة " عبدالله"، الجدة سعاد وإبنتها نجوى وأولاد نجوى وأحفادها ،و تمضي الأحداث من فلسطين إلى بيروت، إلى فرنسا والعراق، ثم بيروت مرة أخرى. الجدة سعاد تزوجت من عواد الكردي، المزواج، وابنتها نجوى تتزوج من باسم، وهو مقاتل من " القرى السبع" يحمل هوية قيد الدرس؛ أما أولاد نجوى الأربعة فلا يجمع بينهم أي شيء. وبين التشرد وفقدان الهوية، والبحث عن الإنتماء يظهر وجه الإرهاب القاسي تاركا سؤالا كبيرا عن حقيقة انتماء الأبطال وهويتهم، كما يحضر المكان بكل أبعاده ليحرك الأحداث والأشخاص والحكايات والأقدار.
