رواية قصيرة تتناول سيرة صعود احد رجال الاعمال وتتعرض للاحداث الهامة التي وقعت في مصر منذ منتصف القرن العشرين وحتي عام 2011
تخرج كمال في كلية الحقوق بتفوق وقد توقع له الجميع اساتذته وزملاؤه ان يتم تعيينه بالسلك القضائي ولكن لاسباب غير معروفة تم تخطيه ولم يتم تعيينه في النيابة كما توقع وامتلأت نفسه بالحقد والقهر ولكنه عمل بوصية ابيه ولم يسمح للفشل بالسيطرة عليه طويلا وقنع بالعمل محاميا تحت التمرين في مكتب استاذه الكبير الدكتور عزمي مندور .
كان عمه وسيم وابن عمه ادهم قد حوكما في قضايا فساد وتم الحكم عليهما بالسجن عشر سنوات لعمه وثلاث سنوات لابن عمه مع غرامة مالية كبيرة ولكنه لم يكترث كثيرا لمصيرهما بل داخله شيئ من التشفي فيهما وفي عقيلة هانم تلك المرأة الكريهة المتغطرسة وان اشفق كثيرا علي ابنة عمة الرقيقة الجميلة انهار تلك الوردة الجميلة التي لا يعرف كيف نمت وسط غابة الكراهية في بيت عمه .
