لبيبة ماضي هاشم: أديبةٌ وصحفيةٌ لبنانيةٌ، كانَ لها دورٌ رائدٌ في الحركةِ النسائيةِ وتعليمِ الفتيات.
وُلدتْ لبيبة ناصيف ماضي في قريةِ «كفر شيما» اللبنانيةِ في عامِ ١٨٨٠م، وقدْ تلقَّتْ تعليمَها ﺑ «مدرسة العازريات» ببيروت حتى تخرَّجتْ فيها، تَميَّزتْ مُنذُ صِغَرِها بحُبِّها الشديدِ للمُطالَعةِ والتعلُّم.
انتقلَتْ لبيبة بعدَ ذلِكَ مَعَ عائلتِها إلى مِصر، وهناك تتلمذَتْ على يدِ الشيخِ والأديبِ الكبيرِ «إبراهيم اليازجي»، كما تَعلَّمَتِ اللُّغتَيْنِ الفرنسيةَ والإنجليزيةَ وأجادَتْهما، وقَدْ تلقَّبَتْ ﺑ «لبيبة هاشم» بعدَ زواجِها مِنَ الأديبِ «عبده هاشم».
تفتَّحَتِ الموهبةُ الأدبيَّةُ لِلَبيبة منذُ الصِّغَر، فأصدرَتْ وهيَ شابَّةٌ مجلةَ «فتاة الشرق» في عامِ ١٩٠٦م، كما قدَّمَتْ عدةَ كُتبٍ أدبيةٍ مُتنوِّعة، بالإضافةِ إلى ترجمتِها عدةَ رواياتٍ مِنَ الفرنسيةِ إلى العربية، مثلِ «الغادةُ الإنجليزية»، وقَدْ دُعِيَتْ لإلقاءِ بعضِ المحاضراتِ في الجامعةِ المصرية.
تُوفِّيَتْ لبيبة بالقاهرةِ في عامِ ١٩٥٢م.

يَحملُ نصُّ هذهِ الروايةِ قَدْرًا كبيرًا منَ التشويق، بقدرِ ما يحملُ عنوانُها مِنَ الإثارة، وكأنَّ الكاتبةَ الأريبةَ «لبيبة هاشم» تريدُنا أنْ نبحثَ عنْ كُنْهِ قلبِ الرجلِ لنكتشفَه؛ إذْ تعمَّدَتْ تسميةَ الروايةِ بمُبتدأٍ دونَ إلحاقِهِ بخبرٍ يُفسِّرُ ما تريد. وهذِهِ الروايةُ بما تُمثِّلُ مِنْ كوْنِها مِنْ أولِ إرهاصاتِ كتابةِ النصِّ الرِّوائيِّ العربي، نجحَتْ كاتِبتُها في نَسْجِ شخصيَّاتِها على مِنوالِ ظروفِها الحياتيةِ وطبيعةِ نشأتِها في مجتمعٍ تَحتدِمُ فيهِ الصِّراعاتُ الطائفيةُ والعِرْقية؛ فجعلَتِ الروايةَ تَزدحِمُ بالشخصياتِ والأحداثِ المتلاحِقة، لتَصِلَ إلى نوعٍ منَ التشتُّت، إلَّا أنَّها تنجحُ في أنْ تُجلِيَ عنها الغُموضَ في الفصلِ قبلِ الأخير؛ فبطَريقةِ حكايةٍ سريعةِ الإيقاع، ذاتِ قفزاتٍ زمانيةٍ كبيرة، وبأسلوبٍ أخَّاذ، قدَّمَتْ لنا المُؤلِّفةُ عملًا يُعَدُّ مِنْ بواكيرِ الرِّوايةِ العربيةِ الحديثة.
