من المعروف بأن القصة القصيرة هي نوع من الأدب يعبر فيها الكاتب بإيجاز أو ترميز وأحياناً بإيحاء عن حاضره.. ومعاناته.. وما تمر به من أحداث مفرحة وأخرى غير ذلك. وهذا ما حصل معي عبر مسار قطار العمر، فقد كنت بين الفينة والأخرى أسمع خبراً، أو تمر حادثة بأحد من الناس، أكتب أسطراً عنها وأحتفظ بها على أمل أن تكون تلك الأسطر نواة لكتابة قصص قصيرة. ومرت السنين ولم أجد في الوقت متسعاً لتحقيق ذلك، فقد أخذ البحث والكتابة عن تاريخ الطب عند العرب والمسلمين الوقت كله.
وأخيراً أعدت صياغة البعض منها، وأضفت إليها قصصاً أخرى جمعتها عن المرضى.. ومن ثم عدت للخزين الذي كان قد تجمع عندي من أوليات القصص، فاخترت منها الصالح، فأضفتها للكتاب الذي أسميته ((قصص موصلية))
