هذا الكتابُ هو عبارةٌ عن تفريغٍ لقصاصاتٍ ورقيةٍ ورثتُها عن الوالد، رحمهُ الله، (د. منير محمد، استشاري الأنفِ والأذنِ والحنجرة بمحافظة الأقصر)، وقد قام هو بجمعِها لنخبةٍ من مثقفي مصر طوالَ حياتِه. ووجدتُ أن تجميعَها ونشرَ محتواها في كتابٍ قد يكون مرآةً كاشفةً لطبيعةِ هذا العصر الذي كان يعجُّ بالحراكِ الفكريِّ والثقافيِّ ،وللمصادفة بينما أجمعُ محتوى تلك القصاصاتِ الورقية، ظهرت لي قصاصاتٌ أخرى جمعها أستاذي الجليل أ.د. إسماعيل موسى عبد اللطيف (أستاذُ طبِّ العيونِ بكليةِ طبِّ سوهاج)، وأهداني إيَّاها عندما علم بفكرةِ إعدادِ هذا الكتاب، ووجد أنه من المفيد أن يضمَّ محتوى قصاصاتِه هو أيضًا، فهي قصاصاتٌ تتميَّز بلونٍ مختلفٍ من الاهتماماتِ الفكرية، والتي أضافت للكتاب رافدًا آخرَ جعل محتواه متنوِّعَ الاتجاهاتِ والأطياف.
الكتابُ يضمُّ مقالاتٍ متنوِّعةً في الأدبِ والثقافةِ العامةِ والسياسةِ والعقيدةِ الإسلامية، بالإضافةِ إلى المقالاتِ الإنسانيةِ التي تتناول رؤيةً عميقةً للحياة، ومقالاتٍ فلسفيةً، وغيرها الكثير من صنوفِ الثقافةِ والفكرِ. أتمنَّى أن يكون محتوى الكتاب بمثابةِ شاهدٍ على عصرِ صحافةٍ ورقيةٍ نشطةٍ وفعَّالةٍ، ضمَّت في وقتِها كوكبةً من أقطابِ الثقافةِ والأدبِ والفكرِ السياسيِّ.
