رواية اجتماعية رومانسية،تتحدث عن رجل يحلم بأن يرزق بولد يحمل اسمه،وتتوفى زوجته،فيتزوج امرأة بدوية،وبعد أن تحمل زوجته يتوفى،فتعاني زوجته بعد رحيله من حياة الغربة،وتربي طفلها اليتيم بحزن،ويتزوجها أحد أقارب زوجها المتوفى فيستغلها ويبدأ بأخذ أموالها يوماً بعد يوم،حتى تقرر الانفصال عنه،وبعد أن يكبر ابنها تمرض ويدخل هو السجن ليخرج بعدها فيجد أمه توفيت بسبب المرض ويمضي بحياته حتى يقابل صديقة الطفولة فيقع في حبها ويتزوجها بعد أن يجبر خطيبها على تركها بالقوة.
