قاد (محمود) سيارته متوجهًا إلى منزله واثناء سيره في أحد الطرق المؤدية لمحافظته الاسماعيلية سمع صوت إنفجار مكتوم أعقبه ترنح عجلة القيادة لحظات في يده قبل أن يسيطر عليها وتتوقف.. هتف في سخط وحنق: تباً.. تباً.. ليس الآن. هبط من سيارته وهو يتوجه لتفقد الإطارات؛ فوجد الإطار ممزقاً تماماً، ولفت نظره وجود بعض الأدوات الحادة المتناثرة على الطريق عن قصد، سرعان ما استوعب الأمر. تلفت حوله بحذر ثم أخرج هاتفه وهم بإجراء اتصال هاتفي؛ لكنه سمع صوت يصدر من خلف الأشجار التي تكسو جانبي الطريق يقول بخشونة: تقدم للأمام وأغلق الهاتق. تراجع (محمود) بحذر للخلف متوجهًا لسيارته لكن الصوت أصبح أقرب، وبرز من خلف الأشجار عدد من قاطعي الطريق شاهرين أسلحتهم في وجهه قائلين: أعطنا ما معك من نقود. وتقد منه أحد الرجال، التصق بالسيارة وهو يحاول إحصاء عددم وسط الظلام الذي يخيم على المكان.
