دور أحداث الرواية في إطار بوليسي مشوق ومثير و"فوجا" هي لفظة يونانية تعني في علم النفس– الفرار أو الهروب- وهي حالة مرضية يسيطر فيها جانب من الشخصية مكبوت، على الشخصية بكاملها. والمصاب بالفوغية يبدو، حين تهيمن عليه هذه الحالة، وكأنه يعي أعماله وتصرفاته ولكن الأمر اختلف مع روايتنا حيث اتجه الكاتب في تحويل ذلك الهروب إلى هروب إلى الجريمة بشكل مشوق ومثير حيث تبدأ الرواية بجريمتي قتل ثم اختفاء إحدى الجثتين مما يجعل القارئ في حالة تشوق دائم لمعرفة الدوافع والحقائق الخفية لأحداث الرواية كما أن الرواية ستنتهي بأحداث غير متوقعة، وسنجد أن الكاتب قد اعتنى جيدًا بالجانب النفسي لجميع أبطال الرواية حيث تطرق إلى حياتهم بشكل عميق وهادف ليصل إلى رسالة معينة وهو أن هناك دائمًا جزء خفي في أنفسنا قد خلفه الماضي ربما لا نعلمه عن أنفسنا ولا نشعر به ولكنه قد يظهر في أبشع الصور من خلال ارتكاب جريمة بشعة.
