كتاب فصول منتزعة تأليف أبو نصر الفارابي، يعرض الكتاب أصول كثيرة من أقاويل القدماء فيما يجب أن تعرفه المدن وتعمر به وتصلح سيرة مواطنيها من خلاله . حيث يبحث الكاتب فى العلم المدنيّ، ولذلك فهو أحد حلقات سلسلة صنّفها الفارابيّ في هذا الموضوع، مثل "المدينة الفاضلة"، "السياسة المدنيّة"، و"المللّة" و"تحصيل السعادة". وقد اعتمد الفرابى فى منهج دراسته على نسخة ديار بكر الخطيّة كأساس لأنّها أقدم وأكمل النسخ المعروفة.
