Book Description
ترفع أمي نظرها عن صورة تظهر فيها وصديقتها كيلي أمام كهف في جزيرة لانزاروت، وأنا أمعن تفكيري في هذه اللحظة فيمن التقط هذه الصورة.
من المؤكد أن أمي لم تطلب من أحد التقاطها، لا أتصور ذلك على كل حال، لا أستطيع أن أتصور أصلاً رحلاتها مع كيلي أو مع أي أحد، من دون أبي، كانت في هذه الصورة تعتمر قبعة من القش وتمسك بحافتها كما لو أن هناك ريحاً قوية، شعرها الأشيب المتموجّ قليلاً مضموم في ضفيرة تنسدل فوق كتفها التي سمرنها الشمس، وهي تبدو صغيرة ونحيلة القوام في بنطال الجينز والتيشرت، أصغر وأشد تحولاً مما هي في الحقيقة.
وهذا يعود إلى كيلي الضخمة والمكتنزة، والتي تظهر إلى جانبها في هذه الصورة، ويكاد يظن المرء أن نهديها الضخمين يزلزلان وهي تضم أمي إلى صدرها وتضحك.
أما أمي فتبتسم فقط ونظرتها مصوبة إلى يسار الكاميرا، كما لو أنها لم تر المصور إلا قبيل التقاطها وأن الأمر كله يحرجها الآن، بيد أنها أيضاً تبدو راضية في هذه الصورة، سعيدة مرتاحة ومسترخية، وربما تجد كل هذا في نفسها الآن وهي تنظر إليّ وتقول: "اعتقدت أنك ستقتله".
