إذا ما بدا علمي، فإني لستُ أفتخرُ
فوقْتُ القصورِ، بصدقِ النفسِ أعتذرُ
أنا طالـبٌ، والعـلمُ زادٌ لي إلى هدفٍ
أُرِيدُ بـه فهـمَ الديـنِ، لا الفخرَ والقممْ
إذا قيلَ هذا مفتي الزمانِ فلا أَنَـا
نسيتُ بأني تلميـذُ من قبـلِ أن أُعلَـمْ
فمـا نلتُ شيئًا منـه إلا برحمةٍ
وما زلتُ أرجـو أن أزدادَ مـا أَفهـمْ
ولستُ أُباهي بالعلـومِ وإنما
بها أرجو النجاةَ إذا أُحشِـرْ
فلا فخرَ في علمٍ بغيرِ تواضعٍ
ولا خيرَ في فَهمٍ يُباهي بهِ الفَهِـمْ
وما العلمُ إلا أن أُبلّغَ رحمةً
لمن جهلوا، لا أن أُباهي وأتخمْ
فإني أُعلِّمُ ما علمتُ لنيّةٍ
بها أبتغي الأجرَ العظيمَ وأُؤجَرْ
وما العلمُ إلا أمانةُ مبلِّغٍ
يَرُدُّ بها عن دينهِ كلَّ من غوى
على منهجِ المختارِ أمضي مُبلِّغًا
