كتاب "عمل اليوم والليلة" من تأليف الإمام الحافظ المؤرخ جلال الدين السيوطي وهو كتاب جليل إذ يشتمل هذا الجزء اللطيف من كتابه (منهاج السنة والكلام الطيب) - على الأحاديث والآثار - التي تحكي عما يفعله المسلم في اليوم والليلة - حيث يبدأ المؤلف - في وظائف الإستيقاظ - والذي يفعله عندما يستيقظ من نومه - وعند دخوله الخلاء - كما يعلمنا وظائف الوضوء ووظائف الغسل - ووظائف الصلاة - وما يجب ان يقال عند سماع الآذان - وما يقال عند آذان المغرب وكيفية دخول المسجد - وعند الركوع والسجود - وما الذي ينبغي عمله لمن صلى الصبح - والذي يقرأ في نوافل الصلاة ويذكر فيها: ركعتي الإشراق، والفجر، وصلاة الضحى، وصلاة الزوال، وصلاة ما بين الظهر والعصر، وراتبة الظهر، وراتبة العصر، وراتبة المغرب، وراتبة العشاء، وصلاة الوتر، وصلاة التسابيح والتوبة والحاجة وصلاة رد الضالة، والإستخارة.
ويذكر أيضاً من النوافل ركعتين عند دخول المنزل، وعند الخروج منه، وإذا نزل به ضيق أو شدة أو خصاصة في الرزق، أو مات ولد أو أخ أو أقرب أو حَزَبَهُ امر، مؤكداً على ما قد اوردت الآثار بكل ذلك.
