رغم انه مات عن عمر يناهز 45 عاما.فإنه أحدث انقلابا قي الفلسفة.فأخضعها للعقل والعمل والتجريب.ونقل هو وفرانسيس بيكون الفلسفة من البحث في اللاهوت إلى التجريب حتى أصبحت الفلسفة أم العلوم المادية التي تخضع للتفكير العلمي والتجريب.
ورغم ذلك قد حاربه رجال اللاهوت المسيحي حتى أنه بعد وفاته كتبوا على قبره (هنا يرقد سبينوزا...ابصقوا على قبره)..وهذا لأنهم اتهموه بالإلحاد وكان سبب اتها رغم انه مات عن عمر يناهز 45 عاما.فإنه أحدث انقلابا قي الفلسفة.فأخضعها للعقل والعمل والتجريب.ونقل هو وفرانسيس بيكون الفلسفة من البحث في اللاهوت إلى التجريب حتى أصبحت الفلسفة أم العلوم المادية التي تخضع للتفكير العلمي والتجريب.
ورغم ذلك قد حاربه رجال اللاهوت المسيحي حتى أنه بعد وفاته كتبوا على قبره (هنا يرقد سبينوزا...ابصقوا على قبره)..وهذا لأنهم اتهموه بالإلحاد وكان سبب اتهامه أنه اهتم بتفعيل العقل كأساس لفهم العالم وخاصة ماوراء الطبيعة.وأن إخضاع الأديان للنقد العقلي أمر مهم لفهمها.
سبينوزا علامة مهمة في تاريخ الفلسفة ونقلة فكرية عالية وضع اسمه أعلى هرم الفلاسفة العظام.
