كتاب عرافة اسطنبول تأليف الكاتب مايكل ديفيد لوكاس . في وقتٍ متأخرٍ من صيف عام ١٨٧٧، في مدينة كونستانتسا على البحر الأسود، جاءت إلينورا كوهين إلى هذا العالم على يَدِ قابِلتَيْن من التتار، وتجلَّت مواهِبُها الاستثنائية باعتبارها طفلة معجزة في سِنٍّ صغيرةٍ للغاية. وعندما كانت في الثامنة من عمرها، اختبأت على متن سفينةٍ تُقِلُّ والدَها يعقوب تاجر السجاد إلى إسطنبول؛ عاصمة الإمبراطورية العثمانية المُزدحِمة والمُفعَمة بالألوان والزاخرة بالأحداث؛ حيث كانت حياةٌ جديدةٌ في انتظارها هناك.
وفي الشوارع الضيِّقة لتلك المدينة، التي كانت تُعَدُّ مُلتقَى العالم، تشيع المؤامرات والشائعات، ولا يكون الناس كما نراهم دائمًا. ولكن إلينورا ستُغيِّر مسار الإمبراطورية العثمانية بأكملها عندما يُعجَب بنبوغها السلطان عبد الحميد الثاني الذي كان محاطًا بشَرْنقة من الأصدقاء والأعداء المنتشرين في أرجاء مملكته المفكَّكَة والمترامية الأطراف.
